Matthew Villarreal

I was born and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona and fell in love with theater at a young age. I started to perform in community theatre when I was eight and started to work on the technical side when I was fourteen. I designed lights for my first show at fifteen and knew that I found what I wanted to focus on. I am an alumni of Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona, with a BA in Theatre Studies with a Minor in Arts and Cultural Management.

My speciality is lighting design, and I have designed for concerts, plays, musicals, solo performances, and showcases. I am based in New York City and I enjoy working with new companies and new people pursing the career that I love.  My goal is to be easy to work with and to help bring the vision of the show or event to life.
